What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a flat rate of $50.00/hour, with a minimum of 1 hour. After that rates are incremented by half hour, such as 1.5 hours of service would be $75.00.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I explain my services, rates and warranties. If the customer agrees with the terms, a remote or an on site session can commence, depending on the nature of the issue and location of the customer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Along with an Electrical Engineering Degree, I maintain the following certifications: CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker GCIH - GIAC Certified Incident Handler CCNA - Certified Cisco Network Architect

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently setup a surveillance system with VPN remote access, giving the customer secure and remote access to view what is happening in their business from afar. This was project only took about 2 days.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone that has honesty, and simple but good reviews. A lot of IT professionals can be egocentric and try to unnecessarily up sell items customers don't actually need.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Have you tried to research the issue yourself? There are a lot of good online resources for most common IT related problems, and you would be surprised with what you are capable of!
