Introduction

I have flexible hours- day, evening and weekend appointments can be scheduled. I believe my clients appreciate the relaxed feel of my office and my style. Many clients comment that once they've been with me for a consultation, they feel a weight has been lifted from their shoulders. I like the "partnership" I share with my clients. You are the expert about your life and/or your children's lives- your needs, expectations, and goals. I am here to be the legal expert to translate those needs, expectations, and goals into practical solutions to difficult interpersonal issues like divorce, child custody, and support.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I work on either an hourly rate or flat fee basis. I believe that client's should be involved in discussing and determining fees. I do work with people to arrange for payment plans.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I meet with a client for a 60 minute no cost consult so that we can spend enough time together both to review the case, and decide whether we feel comfortable together. It's always best if you are not only confident with my skills and knowledge, but feel that we will make a good working team.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Juris Doctor degree (Law), and a Master's Degree in Speech Communication, which has sharpened my ability to present your case with clarity, strength and a persuasiveness necessary to enable a Judge or Master to truly "get" what your position is.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure your attorney wants to understand your unique situation. Don't accept being treated like the client before you, or the one after. Also, make certain that the prospective attorney recognizes that while this is their livelihood, most importantly, this is your life. A good attorney sees the work as a passion, a calling, not just another case.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Going through a divorce, custody, or support matter is anxiety producing. Preparing to see a lawyer may seem overwhelming. If you come to see me, take a deep breath and remember, I am the legal expert, but you are the expert with respect to your life. We are partners in the process, each needing the other to accomplish your goal. So, before you come, have all of your information, facts, and any paperwork available for us to review. I want to know what you want- both as a final outcome, and along the way. The process has a great deal to do with the outcome. If you have specific questions about division of debt and assets in a divorce, spousal support or alimony, write them down and bring them, I will answer all of them as directly and fully as possible. I will review each step of the process you will go through, and will have information about more issues than you may even have thought about. If you retain me, I hope you leave feeling a weight has been lifted from your shoulders, and you've gained a skilled, knowledgable ally.
