At Everette Law Firm we offer you a free, confidential case review. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Every case, and every client, is different. The amount will be based on many things, such as the type and complexity of your case, and the estimated amount of work (hours) required. Everette Law Firm does offer FLAT FEE divorces, but only for uncontested matters.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First meeting, either via phone or in person, generally lasts about 30 minutes and is FREE to the client. At that time we will discuss the needs of their individual case and come up with a plan of action to move forward. We at Everette Law will always do everything in our power to resolve our clients case as quickly and as peacefully as possible.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelor of Science from David Lipscomb University, Major: Accounting; Law Degree/License in Tennessee; and 23+ years of experience practicing family and estate law in Middle Tennessee.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father worked for the State of TN most of my life. I watched how he was able to help people everyday, and I wanted to be able to do that too. I loved my years in banking, but always wanted to be a lawyer and help people like my dad.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Due to attorney/client privilege I can't go into much detail in answering this question, just know that I take each of my clients cases to heart. Whether I'm helping a father spend more time with his children, helping an adult child understand what's next in dealing with their parents estate, or helping two people who can't be married to each other anymore start new, separate lives.......I love what I do, so I become invested in each of my clients cases.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always make sure that the attorney you choose has extensive experience in the type of case you need them for. Most of us practice in multiple areas, but focus and become experts in only one or two.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Am I really ready to hire an attorney? What do I want? vs What do I need? when all of this is done. What debt/assets will need to be divided? And is everyone in agreement on the way they're being divided? Lastly, remember that your attorney is there to advocate for you.
