Introduction

Hello, I’m David Proctor, and I am the proud owner of StressLess Dog Care. As a devoted father of two young boys, I understand the importance of creating harmonious relationships and the challenges that may stand in the way. My purpose is to bring more peace and understanding into the lives of both dogs and their loving owners. My journey into dog training began at a young age, watching my dad train competitive protection dogs. This experience ignited my passion of dogs and led me to my first competition at the age of 12. Growing up around remarkable working line German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and Belgian Malinois, I gained invaluable insights into their behavior and developed a deep understanding of how they think. During the challenging times of the pandemic, I made the decision to turn my lifelong passion into a full-time career. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience, assisting clients and their furry companions every step of the way. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise with people who want to improve their relationship with there dogs. At StressLess Dog Care, I prioritize building trust, love, and understanding between you and your four-legged friend as well as how to properly respond to and correct any negative behavior. Your dog’s well-being and your peace of mind are at the heart of everything I do. Together, we can create a harmonious and joyful bond that lasts a lifetime.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
There is a deposit due when booking with the balance being split between the first and last day of camp. I also offer the ability to finance your training camp through the website Affirm.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We generally start with a free consultation over the phone with an in-person consultation option for $75. We will discuss your dog, camp options and expectations. From there we will book your pups camp and accept deposit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been training and competing with dogs for the last 17 years while I continue to further my education by studying and working with other trainers internationally.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was born into the sport dog world being the son of a competitive dog trainer. Over the years I’ve been blessed to be able to turn my hobby into my profession.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with all types of customers!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently had a Coyote/Shepard mix that was a rescue from Mexico come in for a 3-4 week Board n’ Train camp. He came in very scared and nervous, reactive to other people and dogs on leash and had no house manners. After 3 weeks his owners were almost in tears at the sight of their now well behaved dog who was finally able to relax and enjoy his new life at home.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would suggest to be cautious of any “purely positive” trainers. Their intentions are good but they are missing half of the equation. You can’t expect your kids to behave if you never teach them actions have consequences.
