Introduction

My focus is my experience and training! Since training my first client in the summer of 2020, I’ve conducted over 3,000 private training sessions! 🐾 I am a nine year military veteran, honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant, who worked as a Kennel Master, a 341st Patrol Dog Trainer, and a Dog Handler stationed in Texas, Germany, the Philippines, California, and Bahrain. 🐕 I graduated from all (three) military K9 schools and hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. I am organized, engaging, outgoing, and professional! I prepare lesson plans and provide a thorough training recap, customized program, and provide Amazon links for all equipment used in training after every training session! 🐕‍🦺 There are hundreds if not thousands of dog trainers in Southern California and you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone as qualified as me. 🙌 Thank you for your consideration! 🙏

Q&A

unfold fold

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
It all starts with the free phone consultation! This is where we get to know each other and of course, I get to understand what issues are affecting you and your dog! 👨‍🏫

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
There are only three K9 schools for military personnel and I graduated from all of them. The last school is notable because it’s literally the one and only dog trainer school (Military Working Dog Supervisors Course). Even if you work with prior military K9 handlers as dog trainers, a good portion of them never attended this school because this is an operations, management, and dog trainer specific school. 🐶 I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley (mentioned previously).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ll never forget the day the two people from the Military Working Dog program came to our Law Enforcement Academy class of 50 trainees and asked us, “Do you have what it take to be a K9 handler?!” Ten of us applied for the program ... I was the only one accepted! It was hands down the best decision in my decorated nine plus year military career. 🐕

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with everyone! I’ve worked with children raising their new puppies to grandparents with very reactive dogs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked with a Miniature Poodle who had strong reactivity towards other dogs. After three training sessions, we were able to educate his owners on what equipment to use, HOW to use it, and how to effectively use key positive reinforcement strategies/techniques to fix his reactivity. Moreover, we taught the owners how to handle/walk their dog so as to become the responsive trainers they needed to be! It was a very fulfilling project. 🙌

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Do your due diligence. If you don’t hire me, hire a dog professional. There are so many phonies in this town that claim they’re dog whisperers or talk to wolves. A good dog trainer is worth every penny ... don’t get swayed by the inexperienced dog enthusiast.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
That’s very easy ... “What are your true goals?” If you want a dog trainer to fix a litany of issues, be prepared for a lot of training sessions. But if you’re focused on a few core issues, it’s much easier to work on this versus the former. 🦮
