Introduction

I do this not just to work with animals, but to help people. I listen to all my clients and find out their goals with their dogs, cats, or horses, so that I can progressively work towards those goals each and every time we meet. This produces a strong trust and communication between myself and my clients and their animal family members. A happy byproduct of this is how quickly those Furmembers learn and grow, and how positively families transform. I’ve been loving my work for over 30 years now, and my patience and understanding of every situation is frequently mentioned. I look forward to working with you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer a number of different pricing packages based on what type of training we are doing. (Puppy, service dogs, rescue rehab, basic training, aggression correction)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Initial contact via phone, text message, or email will determine which training set works best for you and your situation. Our first meeting is a consult to discuss training goals and all you’d like to accomplish with your dog, so that I can come up with the appropriate plan to begin immediately working on them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Lifelong love of research on dogs & wolf behavior. Spent years running several group classes each week out of several locations. ABA Certified Behavioral Psychology major

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was lucky enough to begin working with dogs at a very young age, and was quickly referred by many that my business began itself before I was even out of school. I had an endless need to learn all I could about dog and wolf behavior that has stuck with me my entire life. I still research and learn what I can to stay up to date and current on trends and information. I majored in behavioral psychology and was ABA Certified in 2003. I worked for several different training companies, running group classes for many years. I quickly became lead trainer and had the highest repeat and success rate - some of my classes as large as 14 dogs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have been doing my job for 27 years, I have met thousands of dog owners and dogs. I have always been in Customer Service, and I have met all walks of life. It’s one of the greatest things about what I do!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently had a client call me because her vet had told her, her puppy was 'fear aggressive'. After just two private training sessions he was ready for group classes. One round of that (5 weeks), and he's now a happy, friendly, social puppy. I'm very proud of his complete 180° turn-around.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You want to feel comfortable and confident with your trainer or care provider. You'll be using them for important life stages throughout your pets' lives. It’s vital they are knowledgeable and competent.
