Introduction

At Ancillary K9, we believe you can have the relationship you want with the dog you love. In fact, we’re in the business of making that happen. Our training programs are goal-specific, and are based on scientific, evidence-based research. We provide personalised, intensive training that delivers rapid, lasting results tailored to your dog's unique needs. Our programs empower both you and your dog for long-term success. We’ll work with you and your dog to solve the problems that matter most to you: obedience, behavioral issues, and aggressive dog rehabilitation. The biggest threat to the bond between you and your dog is their behavior – the one thing you may not know how to address on your own. If you’ve tried other programs or trainers in the past, only to be disappointed with the results, we know how frustrating that can be. Whether you’re focused on competition, personal protection, or just enhancing the bond between you and your K9 friend, our no-nonsense approach – backed by our Lifetime Support Guarantee – will allow you to be successful. Training is a vital part of the relationship you have with your dog. Let’s make it stronger together.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our focus is on dog owners and their dogs. We do offer standard prices and fees which are posted on our websites, but we also offer discounts and custom fees when the occasion calls for it (holidays etc.). We also work on a personalized fee schedule for those owners who require help with their dog on an in-home, or other basis. Contact us for more details.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We interview all new customers and evaluate every dog to find out what their concerns and needs are, and to evaluate their dog to see where he/she is in their socialization. We believe all dogs and their owners have a unique relationship and we like to see what that relationship is and how we can help. We never make assumptions about where a dog, or an owner is. Contact us for a free phone consultation and to ask about our classes and package offers.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve worked with a variety of customers, from seniors to millennials, and police K-9 officers and college students. We’ve had families and kids, and a variety of experience - from first time dog owners to life long dog owners. The one thing they all have in common is our customers tend to be people who love their dogs and want the best for them. “The best” involves training, socialization, and learning how to best work with each other. Anyone, male or female, young or old, able-bodied or other-challenged is who we work with. The one thing we ask of our customers is that they take training seriously.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are people who call themselves dog trainers, but have little to no experience in the field. Talk to the trainer. Find out why and how they got into training. Ask to see their insurance and other documentation. Check online reviews. Finally, trust your gut. Do you (and your dog) feel comfortable around the trainer? Don’t rely on price alone. It’s better to wait a bit until you can afford a better trainer than to hire the cheapest trainer only to have to retrain your dog down the road because they didn’t know what they were doing. You get what you pay for. We offer payment plans so our customers can afford us. Contact us for more details.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers need to know what they expect or want from a professional trainer before they contact or hire them. They should decide whether they want or need help with a specific issue, or just want general training for their dog. If they’re uncertain about what to expect, or what is possible they should schedule a consultation with the trainer to discuss their options. Don’t rush into training until you’ve thought about what you need and want. Training your dog is a commitment you make to both your dog and yourself. Don’t let yourself be pressured into more than you want, or can afford.
