Introduction

We have over 2 decades of training experience and expertise. We started with dogs that had no hope supposedly, yet we trained and loved them into loving homes. We spent over a decade overseeing the puppy program from 8 week old puppies up to adult dogs for various service dog jobs from therapy to high tasking service work. Basic obedience is a super fun way for us to teach leadership and relationships between you and your beloved K9. Paws Up works with everyone within their budget. We do not sell needless packages. Instead we build relationships and grow off of your referrals. We are now offering Grooming, our first salon is located in Thornton. We also will offer Board and Train if we feel it is the only way to get the needed result for you. Paws Up looks forward to building a Pawsitive relationship with your K9 pack and family. We offer services up and down the I-25 corridor and can serve most of Colorado. My trainers have vast experience and can train any dog and help you with every issue. Paws UP!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Paws Up will work with each client individually. We do not sell needless packages. Every owner and their K9 is different and has different needs. We generally work at 150.00 and hour but will not turn any customer away because of finances. Our puppy school also has adolescent trainings attached to it because we know as teenagers more often they become a little bit more free thinking. If Service work is needed and or certification and testing we also offer that at friendly pricing as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We almost always come to the customer first. We believe the pup in its natural environment is key to understanding the pups needs. We do like to do trainings in other places with the client so that if the client wants to take the pup places with them they can handle the exposure and act accordingly. We also offer pet boarding once you have been a client of ours as well.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have over two decades of dog training expertise. Working with so called un-adoptable dogs to high tasking service dog work. Awarded an Apprenticeship through the State of Colorado almost two decades ago and many IBSA certifications in board and train. Overseeing the puppy program for a 10 million dollar company out of Denver for almost 10 years of our work.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started training un-adoptable dogs for a rescue and gradually moved from that to more education and school in behavior modification and service work. Training dogs for veterans and autistic and terminally ill children. I realized early on I was born to train dogs and it is now my life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked for every type of client and love them all. Training the human is what dog training is truly about. Teaching you how to build a relationship with your K9 is our business. From new pet owners all the way to veterans with disabilities.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I trained a yellow lab for PTSD service work for a woman who hadn't left her home in 4 years. Her and Daisy now travel all over the place together. It is beautiful. I had a woman who couldn't have people over to her home because her Husky wouldn't allow it. Nakita now greets everyone and is a calm, confident, and balance pup.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Experience is key! To become a great trainer you need to have been experienced in the world of dog. Every dog has different needs and every client too, so having experienced so many different scenarios helps to set your client on a successful track without guessing what the k9 needs. Our puppy school track is like no other and that is because of experiences we have had through the years to know what works for each dog and or breed.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What is it that you truly need out of your trainer. It can't be cookie cutter for a trainer with their clients. Ask about pricing obviously but also if they only do a certain number of trains and that's it. At Paws UP we will work with the client for life, without more needless charges. We want to build our business off referrals and the amazing service we have provided. The amount of trainings the trainer has done is key for success.
