Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Program pricing varies depending on the amount of direct help you receive from the trainer, as well as the number of skills you'd like your dog to learn. To find out more about program pricing, contact us to schedule an video or in-person consultation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
In order to begin the process of program selection, potential clients are required to fill out a training inquiry form from our website. Once completed, you will be contacted to schedule a consultation so you can speak with the trainer and express any additional concerns you have regarding your dog's behavior, as well as any major training goals you may have.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Megan is a University of Miami School of Business Alumni, an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer and a Certified Trick Dog Instructor. She is also certified in Pet CPR.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Megan worked at a dog training facility for a year and half and fell in love with dog training. After discovering her love of training, she branched out on her own to work privately and help the surrounding community of dog owners live in harmony with their pups.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Megan has experience working with rescues, single person homes, and multi person homes ranging from families to college roommates. She has experience with a large variety of breeds and has many tried and true tricks for puppy rearing!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of Megan's favorite "projects" has been training one of her personal dogs, Tiva. Megan brought Tiva home when she was just 4 months old, but even at a young age, she was already showing signs of separation anxiety and destructive behavior. Tiva has all the common behavior problems: leash pulling, biting, jumping, barking, nipping, inappropriate chewing, accidents in the home, and extreme excitability which eventually manifested as reactivity. With the training Megan has given her, Tiva has transformed from a crazy, reactive, hyper puppy to a well-behaved dog who can enjoy walks and public outings without being a headache to handle.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always get to know your trainer! It is also important to know that dog training does not just end after you've completed a program with a trainer. Maintenance training is always required in order for your dog to continue to behave after a training program. Dog trainers are here to teach owners, but training only works if you, the owners, are committed to training as well!
