I've been working with dogs for the past 8 years. I started at doggie daycares where I learned first hand about dog behavior and that grew into wanting to learn how to train dogs. I am constantly attending dog training seminars and trying to improve my craft. I like to take everything into account when I work with owners and their dogs. We will look at your dogs diet, physiology and temperament to tailor a training program that works for everyone.

I am a Certified Master Dog Trainer. I began training informally before enrolling in a formal full-time 6-month residential master dog trainer school at Highland Canine Training in North Carolina. I was one of just three students who graduated with student excellence honors in my class of almost 30 students.
After dog trainer school I gained an additional six months of hands-on experience as an intern/apprentice. Prior to starting Libratum Dog Training, I served as the Service Dog Program Director at Highland Canine Training. I have experience training pet dogs, service dogs, detection and trailing dogs, and police canines. In addition to obedience training, I am versed in methods to address a range of behavior modification issues (aggression, fear, jumping, etc.)
I use balanced training methods that utilize all four quadrants of operant conditioning, with emphasis on positive reinforcement and the least intrusive minimally aversive means to achieve success. I offer group classes and private lessons.
I focus on building a trusting bond with your dog and establishing clear communication of rules and boundaries. I also know that every dog has its own quirky personality traits, so I design customized training programs based on the particular needs and capabilities of the dog and owner.
