We are a professional, veteran owned Atlanta-based dog training company that specializes in strengthening the bond between your dog and your family, with a strong emphasis on teaching your dog the highest level of obedience, despite even the toughest level of distractions. We use positive dog training based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a dog that is trained using treats to bribe vs a dog who truly desires to please from the inside out. I have been working professionally with dogs for 13 years now. Immediately after high school I began working at an “open-play” dog facility. Being in the yard with the dogs for 6-12 hours daily granted me invaluable knowledge about dogs and the multitude of ways that they interact. I was in charge of teaching new and old employees on how to better conduct their days with their dogs (preventing dog fights, accidents, chewing on furniture, humping, and other inappropriate behavior). In this role I also was tasked with handling aggressive dogs that stayed with us, special feeding instructions, and administering virtually every medication under the veterinary umbrella. Through years of practice and a plethora of different challenges with dogs and their countless personalities, I created my own training program I refer to as Paws and Lessons. I am seriously passionate about the work that I do. Sometimes dogs are misunderstood and I love clearing the blurred lines! As a multi-dog owner and balanced trainer with over five years of experience, my passion lies in helping dogs and their owners truly understand each other. I believe the foundation of great training is a strong relationship built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. I love helping dogs become more calm, confident, and well-adjusted as they navigate life’s chaos. Whether it’s through structure, clear communication, or confidence-building exercises, my goal is always to support dogs in becoming the best version of themselves. I specialize in basic obedience, leash walking, crate training, potty training, household manners, and behavior modification. Through my in-home board and train programs, dogs receive consistent, personalized training in a real home environment. These programs also include private lessons to support a smooth transition and continued success. I’m here to help build that bond in a way that makes life easier, more peaceful, and more fulfilling for you both!
