Introduction

No Treats, No Clickers, No Shock Collars, No Gimmicks ™ The Always Faithful Dog Training method aims to help you understand your dog's language, which we refer to as Leadership Dog Training. As pack animals, dogs naturally seek to follow a leader. Our leadership-focused techniques empower you to become that pack leader. Common dog behaviors such as pulling on the leash, jumping, barking, digging, and not paying attention are indicators that your dog is trying to take the lead. Our private in-home lessons will promptly address these behaviors and equip you with the skills needed to sustain your leadership.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our prices are determined by the number of lessons performed. We offer a 10% discount to active military, police, or fire department employees.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We schedule an in-home assessment to understand the goals of our client with their dog. Once we complete the assessment we suggest how to approach the lessons and schedule.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All trainers are trained by a Master dog trainer. Our Master dog trainer has trained over 1,000 dogs and each trainer must meet a minimum qualification of dog handling with a senior trainer, prior to training on their own. We also receive on-going education and support from our Master trainer to guide our methods for any unfamiliar behavioral issues we need to address with our clients' dog.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We love dogs and wanted to offer our clients a business that gives them professional help with their family pet. We are a franchise organization and that gives us access to a wealth of knowledge beyond our own dog training experience. With over 30 franchisees and our franchisor, we have access to dog trainers around the country who can help us get the right solutions for any dog obedience issue we come across.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our clients are as diverse as the dogs we train. We work with all dog owners who have dogs at least 8 weeks old. We train all types of dogs and ages and are versed in the different methods to handle them all.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Giving back to the community and supporting school children came together in training two Therapy Dogs for Scribner Middle School in New Albany, IN. Over the course of several months, we teamed up with the dogs' owner & primary handler, community partners, and school administration, faculty, and staff to build a successful Therapy Dog program. There are so many visible and intangible benefits for the kids, we are working to launch similar programs in other area schools.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you are comfortable with your trainer's methods and your role in the training. Our training methods do not use food, shock collars, or clickers and instead teach leadership methods. Since you lives with your dog, it is important to ensure you are comfortable continuing the methods you learn from a dog trainer to maintain the progress after training is complete.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
They should ask about: 1. Additional costs for tools that will be used during training 2. Methods trainer will use during training 3. Level of hands on training the owner will receive (doing vs observing) 4. Follow up support between sessions 5. Convenience of scheduling sessions 6. Level of individualized support for their dog (private vs group)
