Introduction

I have 38 years of experience training service dogs. I specialize in dogs that help folks with balance, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I also train non service dogs with behavior issues, leash walking, excessive barking, nervous/anxious behavior, fear of infants, toddlers, and small children, to name a few. I also have a well-behaved pack to assist me in training proper dog on dog behavior. I love working with dogs. I've done it most of my life, and I wouldn't have life any other way. I also really enjoy the education of humans and how to help them better understand their dog. I love the "Ahhh-Haha" moments when a human gets how to help and assist their own dog. I just can't get enough of happy dogs and happy humans. My reviews truly speak to my experience, communication skills, training experience, and value in my field. Please feel welcome to reach out, and let's chat! I welcome the opportunity to help you and your dog.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My price is based on gaining a detailed summary of your dog, listening to your needs/training desires/dog behaviors. We discuss a plan moving forward & beginning training that day. Apts last 1.5-2 hours.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I go to their home. I learn everything about the dog and access the dog. We set up a training plan from there.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was trained old school. I was trained before shock collars were used on house dogs (they were invented for hunting dogs origionally) I was trained to analyze a dog quite quickly by be able to access their behavior & problem areas & then address & assist then for change. I was trained to gain the dogs brain & help them gain confidance.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was raised in the field. My beloved grandfather was a groomer & judge. Mother was a groomer & breeder. I became the trainer in the family. I've been directly involved with hands on dog work since I was age 5.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types. Leash walking Service Dog Training: PTSD, Hearing & Balance dog Problem behaviors Lunging on leash Barking at humans & other dogs Growling at children Dog or dog problems

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I absolutely adore a case where I can assist a nervous anxious dog to behave better. I also am thrilled when humans acknowledge they may be part of the problem & are willing to change to help the dog. When family dynamics change & training helps & a family stays together, that's a great day!!!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Please hire someone that is really trained in the field. That's not petsmart, ABC college, clicker training, shock collar work or taking a class at trade school. This field is challenging and one needs experience & knowledge to handle dogs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Its very difficult as every animal is individual and comes with a history, even a puppy. Humans must have patience and learn to work properly with their animal.
