Active Paws Inc. specializes in force-free, positive reinforcement dog training. We're here to help you live the best life with your best friend. Our trainers are certified in force-free, using evidence-based methods to teach you useful skills and resolve problematic behaviors while building strong and trusting human/dog relationships. We teach you how to get your dog to produce behaviors you like and show you how to reinforce that. We also show you how to prevent and manage the behaviors you do not like from happening. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We provide a premium service at a fair price, our initial training sessions all include an hour of private training at your house or other select location, packet of information, a clicker and 2 weeks of phone/email support.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We have an initial form to fill out so that we can make certain that our training services will meet your needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have an on-staff certified dog trainer, Cara Armour, KPA-CTP. All staff are certified in pet first aid & CPR, we have won a slew of accolades as well.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My husband and I met at the dog park, I had the idea to provide dog walks midday since I had so much trouble finding someone to help me when I was at work. Dog training was a natural progression as we love helping people live the best lives with their best friends.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types of wonderful dog-loving people.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We're fond of our puppy pals that grow old with us. In 19 years many of our client friends have crossed over the rainbow bridge but as they start a new chapter of dog in their life, we're welcomed in to be right there with them providing training.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone that has experience, is trained to handle when something goes wrong and has a backup plan.

Does the dog trainer have credentials? Anyone can wake up and call themselves a dog trainer What is the company's cancelation policy? How do payments work? Will you train my dog or will you teach me how to train my dog since I have to live with them daily and teach the behaviors I want?
