Introduction

If you are looking for dog training that starts with listening to what you envision as the perfect result and then customizing a program towards achieving that result, then I am the trainer for you. I work with you and your dog so that you, as the primary handler, develop the skills to maintain your dog's training long after I am gone. If you choose the Board and Train option, I personally work with your dog for at least a two-weeks, targeting the five basic obedience skills that are the basis for every level of AKC obedience competition. The progress of your dog is reported back to you. Then I will come to you at your home (included in the price) and work with you for two sessions so that you, as the primary handler, can maintain these skills for the rest of your dog's life!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We are Personalized - Private (We come to you!) - Boarded Training is a good alternative and highly customizable. Both options are affordable.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always start out with a free consultation to understand what is going on with you and your pup. I love dogs and want all dog owners to enjoy the closeness that comes from working with your companion as a team. First, we "LISTEN" to you and to what is going on- then we work out the training protocol based on your goals and needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been training dogs all my life. I am certified and if desired, as an AKC Evaluator I can take you and your dog all the way to a AKC Good Companion Certification.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I retired, I decided to devote the rest of my life to helping people and their dogs enjoy the magical qualities that comes with the closeness one develops when working on training seriously with their dogs. For me it's NOT work...it's a calling.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Teens - Young Families - Single Moms - Retirees. If you have a dog that you love and need some help...I want to work with you!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Training a dog on the basic 5 commands including proper leash training takes time. I need to understand what your goals are for you and your pup and then I can give you an estimate as to how much time it will take to master them.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If someone tell you that they can "magically" train your dog without your direct hands-on involvement, then hang up the phone! At the end of the day, you are the "Primary Handler." You must understand what that means to make sure that your dog maintains the skills for the rest of his/her life. That is the job of the Primary Handler. A properly trained dog is a Happy Dog!
