What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At our training center, we focus on program pricing rather than hourly rates. What's great about this approach is that we're here to support you until we successfully reach our agreed-upon goals. If it takes a bit longer than expected, no worries β there are no extra charges for additional sessions. We're dedicated to your success!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a one-on-one training and behavior assessment in your home. This initial session is all about connecting with your goals, understanding your dog's behavior, and developing a program tailored exclusively to your needs. We'll lay out a clear timeline and cost estimate to achieve your goals, and of course, we're here to answer any questions you may have.
Our training programs are similarly designed with your convenience in mind. We conduct weekly one-hour sessions in your home or out in the community, depending on what suits your dog's needs best. Flexibility and tailored training is our way of ensuring success for both you and your dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our trainers and behavior specialists have decades of valuable experience, along with a strong educational foundation in animal behavior, comparative psychology, and cutting-edge, science-based dog training techniques. We take pride in our proven track record, having successfully tackled a diverse range of training goals and complex behavior issues, from puppy potty training, to serious aggression issues, to service and therapy dog training and more.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After seeing countless dogs surrendered or rehomed due to what appeared to be insurmountable training or behavior challenges, we became determined to prevent these heartbreaking outcomes. Our mission is to educate and empower not only dogs but also their owners. We firmly believe that by providing the right guidance and support, we can help more dogs live harmoniously with their loving, dedicated families.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We've had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of dog breeds, catering to dogs of all ages. Our valued clients encompass a diverse spectrum, from those seeking to instill basic good manners in their furry friends to those tackling potty training hurdles with their puppies, and even those addressing more complex challenges like aggression and anxiety in their dogs. Notably, approximately a quarter of our clients are dedicated to training their dogs for service or therapy roles, and we wholeheartedly extend our expertise to each and every one of our clients.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We have worked with thousands of dogs and puppies with a wide range of training and behavior issues from potty-training, to basic manners, to leash-reactivity, to serious aggression or anxiety issues. While every client is unique, successful dog training programs, yielding long-lasting results, usually range from as few as ten sessions for simpler goals to fourteen sessions or more for more complex issues.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you're considering a trainer, two vital factors should be at the top of your list: experience and a commitment to positive, force-free methods. Lumi Dog Training brings decades of experience to the table, and we make your dog's safety, comfort and well being the highest of priorities, promising to use only positive training methods.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
When selecting a trainer, there are a few vital factors to consider. Experience is at the forefront, and we proudly bring over three decades of expertise in handling a diverse range of dog training and behavior issues to the table.
Customization is key; one-size-fits-all group classes and generic programs often miss the mark when it comes to addressing individual client needs.
Moreover, the training location is crucial. Since most dog training and behavior issues arise at home, it's essential that training takes place in the familiar surroundings of your home. However, if a particular issue, like reactivity during walks, demands a specific location, we're more than ready to work with you in that environment too. Your dog's success is our top priority! πΎπ
