Introduction

Hello! This is Lori and I would like to clear one thing up before we get started...I am not a dog trainer. I am a canine behavior modification specialist. I help dog owners who have already taken their dogs through training and are still having issues with their dog's behavior. I am here to help you understand why your dog is not listening (whether it is bad behavior, anxiety, aggression etc.) and then teach you how to interact with your dog to help change those unwanted behaviors. I will be there with you when you have your , "Aha" moments. I will be there when you have your moments of frustration and I will be there when you finally have the dog you have always dreamed of. Don't be surprised if I even cry with you! (You have been warned lol) My approach is customized to you and your dog's needs because no two people or dogs are the same. This is not training, my friend, we will go far beyond that! Get ready for some big changes!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is at the higher end of the scale due to the time and dedication it takes on both the client's and my end.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process is started with a discovery call to get as much detail as possible on you and your dog's background and for us to get a connection started to see if we are a good fit. Next, we schedule an in-home consultation so that I can evaluate your current relationship with you and your dog, witness any unwanted behaviors and get a better understanding of how and where we need to start. After the consult, a proposal will be sent with pricing and additional details. Once a contract is signed, we can start the journey to your new and improved relationship with your dog!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been working with dogs for about 18 - 20yrs. I have been a kennel manager, a veterinary technician and, my all time favorite, a dog daycare group attendant...this is were the dogs taught me everything I needed to know about how to interact with them so they understand what you are asking of them. I soaked up everything I could while out with those groups of dogs 💓. I then began training and realized that the dogs are already behaving based on our communication with them. It is US that needs to learn how to communicate with them! And, here I am, carrying their message to dog owners who need it 💓

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
The thing that really started a deep dive into understanding dogs and their behavior was my personal dog that I adpoted 20yrs ago. He came equiped with major separation anxiety, general anxiety, fearfullness and to top it off; aggression....good times...good times. Anyway, even at the age of 7 weeks (his age when I adopted him...I know, right!) I couldn't take him back. So in I dove to help this guy navigate this crazy human world...and that we did 💓

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with many people throughout the years with many different behavior issues that we have been able to either competely change or have learned how to better handle and lessen the stress for the dog.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am currently working with a very high anxiety German Shepherd who can resort to aggression when feeling uncomfortable. Mom's goal was to be able to board her for a couple weeks while on vacation. I advised mom that this was a long stretch due to her very high anxiety level. Due to mom's commitment and hard work implementing what she learned, a very successful day visit was just accomplished this weekend. I am so very proud of mom's hard work over the past few months!!!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice is to always get on the phone with anyone you are looking at potentially hiring. That phone call will give you a good sense of their abilities and a feel for whether or not you think you and the provider have a good rapport.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before calling anyone make sure you have a very clear end goal in mind, but be open to realistic advice from the professional.
