Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All of our pricing is available to view on our website.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process begins with scheduling a phone call to have a brief conversation about your dog. We can determine what will be the best route for training your puppy/dog. Private sessions can be scheduled during the phone call. Board and Train Packages are booked once the owner makes the deposit for the training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our love for animals and passion for helping people bridge the gap between human communication and dog behavior grew into a successful life path. Brianna completed an apprenticeship with a professional service dog trainer, is an AKC Evaluator and studies Fear and Aggression. Jeannine has a B.A. in Psychology, her knowledge in behavioral sciences is the perfect match for behavioral modification techniques.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We are obsessed with dog manners! The first time I shadowed my mentor training puppies as young as 8 months to walk in high volume public places and practice their training commands, my jaw dropped. It inspired me to train dogs for life. The beginning of our training started with raising service dogs and now we provide a service to those dogs and families needing help with behavioral modification, house training, puppies and more. Life gave me opportunities and I took it. When you're in sync with what you are good at, it just continues to prosper. I love well-behaved dogs, love training and caring for them and so the opportunities to do so are endless.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Puppy potty training With breeders selling puppies as young as 6 weeks, it’s no surprise to find first-time owners struggling with potty training. A frustrated owner tends to lead to a scared puppy–and that’s where the behavior problems begin. Most people have no idea the amount of work that goes into the first 6 months of raising a puppy. It’s like having a 2-year old that you have to supervise and take to the bathroom 20 times a day. The first year is the single most important one in the training of your puppy, but it’s almost impossible to do when you work full time. We offer a number of potty-training packages to help you through the process. Rescue or shelter dogs. Many people want to provide love and shelter for homeless animals, but often times these dogs are not house broken and/or have accumulated a list of bad behaviors and emotional issues, including grief, depression, insecurities, and fear. We offer a month-to-month behavioral modification program that helps owners rescue these dogs from not just the shelter, but the emotional state which prevents them from enjoying life. All kinds of service dogs. Some dogs have a higher calling. We also do a lot of work with those who want to train their puppies to reach these goals or have a current service dog, emotional support dogs, or therapy dog that needs a refresher or has a behavior that needs modification. Manners and obedience. Whether you just want your dog to be well-behaved or want to create a strong training foundation for your puppy—we’re here to help. Our two-week introduction package to Basic Obedience is a great starter package for puppies 3 months to a year. Extra care. For those dogs that require extra attention, we can help administer medications such as insulin injections, etc. *Limited space available as we only take on a small group of dogs at a time to ensure high quality attention and training is given*

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We're fond of all the dogs we have worked with. Each case is unique and special to us. There is Amy the aggressive behavior/ leash-reactive GSD who is doing amazing even with her late socialization at 13 months old, Loki the Sheepdoodle who was fearful of grooming tools and humans - we helped the family with desensitization techniques and now he is comfortable with children and gets groomed bi-weekly, OR Marshall who never pooped outside and after 1 month of Board and Train he now goes to the door to tell us he needs to go outside!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Advice! Training is FOREVER or at least long term for the first 1-2 years you'll need tons of reinforcement. Although we offer two week packages for board and train, some dogs need more time, and sometimes we discover behaviors from your dog that the owner didn't know. An honest trainer knows that they should offer an evaluation of the dog and can only promise to do their best with whatever time the owners are willing to provide for training. All dogs are different and depending on their experience in the first year of life and the training foundation of Attention-Attitude-Accuracy, dogs learn at different rates. If a trainer tells you they can fix your dog- that's not true. Trainers can use counter conditioning training methods to modify behaviors, you have to use them too to get the behavior you want. PRIVATE SESSIONS ARE TYPICALLY FOR OWNERS- Only One training session is not enough to train your puppy basic obedience or to potty outside. Ask for an estimate... Occasionally I will do private sessions with just the dog when requested because not all dogs have the will to learn from strangers and require a trusting bond and in that case we offer Board and Train in our home. Training young puppies begins around 12 weeks, your trainer should offer an evaluation before committing to the training. If your puppy is too young you may want to wait until they have a stronger attention span and are more mature physically. Potty training puppies starts from the moment you take them home but can be difficult with busy work schedules. Depending on your puppies age they can go to potty training programs, your puppy can do training for 2 weeks or months this will not guarantee a fully housebroke puppy but will definitely create the foundation for a positive experience for your puppy, giving you the tools to continue the potty training process. Potty training/housebreaking is a learned behavior, it can be done for some dogs in 2 weeks depending on their age but no matter what, after training it's the owners ability to be there to reinforce the behavior by taking them outside frequently and supervise their puppy during access to the home, that really solidifies the training.
