What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like for them to read a little on my website so they are knowing what to financially invest. Then we meet, I go over the do’s & dont’s of behavior, husbandry and training. Program options and their goals. Then I set them up on a program/ plan to achieve those goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As a vet tech, I later when to K9 training, puppy management, show dogs and my 3 certifications from the major organizations nationally and internationally.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was a veterinarian technician for many years and was extremely good handling to “aggressive” dogs. I learned a ton about breeds, temperaments, handling and owners as well.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My customers come from all walks of life: nurses, doctors, mechanics, homemakers, married, single, just you’re average happy dog owner.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I had a very challenging dog to train that was from another country on the meat market. It took me 8 weeks to get him from absolutely no human contact to sleeping in our bed, leash walking, socializing, commands and off leash eventually. Still brings a tear to my eye. The owner still sends me pictures.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Certification, qualification, diverse methods, patient and empathy for owners.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

How much they know about the breed(s) their dog is, experience in different types of training tools, short and long term program goals.
