What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer a 4 session private one-on-one in your home dog obedience training using positive reinforcement, reward-base training for you and your dog. "Dog Training Fun For The Whole Family"

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will schedule an initial phone consultation to understand the specific needs and requirements they are looking for their dog training. Following the initial consultation we will schedule a mutually agreed up day and time for the 4 session dog obedience training package.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

CPDT-KA Certified Professional Dog Training - Knowledge Assessed through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) 7 years of experience training dogs 7,500+ training hours CPR & First Aid Certified Volunteer at local shelter for past 5 years

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Took my 15 1/2 yr. Bichon, Louie to dog training 14 years ago and fell in love with dog training. Volunteer dog training for 2 1/2 yrs. assisting the lead trainer at the local shelter teaching level 1 & level 2 dog obedience training for people who adopted from the shelter. Dog walker & pet sitting as well Rescue transports Fundraisers V.P of Board of Spay & Neuter organization in Houston

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with many families that have children. I enjoyed getting the kids involved in the training. They enjoy it and learn about dog training. Some of them are VERY good! I have worked with older adults who have adopted dogs from the shelter and need help with basic obedience for their shelter dog. I have worked with younger families who don't know anything about puppies or dogs and help them set up their home for their new puppy and social it with their new dog.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A young family had an existing 3 yr. French Bulldog, Stella, and adopted a new puppy from the local shelter. They asked me to first teach their puppy dog obedience training and work on socializing the puppy with Stella. Following the 4 session training with the puppy, the rehired me to train Stella and work with her on three specific issues; triggered by the doorbell - taught her to "go to place". Secondly I worked with Stella on "reactivity" while on her walks. Thirdly, Stella was "barky" when people approached so I worked with her on her fearful issues.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

1. Find a trainer who has a CPDT-KA certification 2. Find a trainer who has many hours training dogs 3. Find a trainer with a diversified background with training experience, rescue experience, shelter experience, etc.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

How long has the training been doing dog training? What is their area(s) of expertise? Obedience? Fearful issues? Reactivity?
