What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We are sure to keep our pricing competitive with other local companies who are insured, licensed and bonded.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After learning our new client's needs and expectations, we assign one main dog walker or pet sitter that will meet the client for a complimentary consultation. Each client will also have their own online client account where they can request and cancel walks, update client and pet info, view their schedule and past invoices, etc. Most clients begin their service shortly after their initial meet-and-greet.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

15+ years of professional pet care and customer service!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Originally from New York, Shannon has been working with animals professionally for over 15 years. She has a deep love and passion for animals, which has been with her since very young age. At five years old, when asked “what do you want to be when grow up?” Shannon quickly answered “I want to own a puppy store!” (Not knowing the moral implications of course!) Her favorite place to go as a child was a local, family-owned pet store, which she later managed for many years, while earning a double bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and Women’s Studies. After moving to California to discover and follow her dreams, Shannon realized that her real dream was always right in front of her. She was destined to start a pet care business, and her years of experience in both animal care and customer service would allow her to achieve this goal with ease. In 2010, Doggie Bliss was born, and Shannon has never looked back! Shannon currently lives in West LA with her partner, Kat, two Boston Terriers, Mayson and Oliver, and recently-rescued kittie, Chaplin!

Dog walking (private and buddy walks), dog hiking in the Santa Monica mountains, dog park playtime, private pet sitting in our clients' homes, puppy visits, kitty visits!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always make sure your dog walker or pet sitter is licensed, bonded, and insured! It is also a good idea to ask for references as well.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Clients should have an idea of what kind of schedule they'd like to set up (dates, service lengths and time ranges) for their pets. Also, if they'll be needing any extras (feeding, clean-up, mail collecting, etc) during their visits.
