Introduction

Caring and professional services, dog walking, pet and house sitting, errand running, light cooking, light housekeeping, and eldercare. I am easy-going, caring, and able to dispense just about any kind of medication needed. I love animals and think that they all deserve as much attention as possible. When I care for someone's pet, I treat them better than my own and it's like they become a member of my family. I also enjoy taking care of homes and making sure that people are taken care of. I am a certified chef and even though I don't work in restaurants anymore, I adore the field and keep up with current trends. I serve mostly in Boulder county as that is where I live. I am willing to travel but there are additional fees. I pride myself on making my families, their children, and their fur babies happy and feeling cherished! This warms my heart!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I tailor my pricing and visits to my client's needs. If they only need me for 20 minutes, (or 20 hours) I can adjust my pricing to reflect that.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to do a home visit/introduction so that my clients can get to know me and I can get a feel for the home that I am visiting

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been performing these duties for several clients for over 20 years. I like to sticking to close to my neighborhood as that gives me access to clients quickly. I am a school trained, certified chef and love cooking for people! I am also an animal lover and enjoy making sure that they are loved while their guardians/owners are not home.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started cooking at the age of 9. It progressed from there and I decided to go to school. I am still involved heavily in the industry as my full time job is as an event/conference coordinator. I started baking and cooking for my family at the age of nine and realized that I am not only good at it but that I love it! I have the ability to make food taste good and not add unnecessary calories or fat to the food. My family always teased me that my idea of a good time was throwing a dinner party for 20! I raised Great Danes as a child with my parents. I love caring for people and animals. The pet sitting evolved as I looked for pet sitters for my dogs and wanted to make sure that other's pets were cared for and visited properly while their guardians/owners were out of town. I am passionate about taking care of those who need the extra help. Making sure that people have what they need to feel safe is extremely important to me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
At the moment, I have several clients that I visit on a weekly basis - I care for a family (working mother and three children, two dogs, five fish and two backyard chickens). I pick up the children after school when needed, prepare meals, bring to sports practices, feed and walk dogs when Mom can't. I also have one client that I see once a week to let animals out and feed while they are in class. I also do vacation visits for several local folks at times staying (or not) depending upon what the clients wish.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Getting this business up and running. I have wanted to do a care business for a long time and had thought about it for several years before I "took the plunge". It has been rewarding and fulfilling and makes me feel more part of my community.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ensure that you at least meet your provider and that they seem to get along with your family members/pets. Sometimes, the fit isn't right and that's ok - not everyone gets along!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long/often will I need this service - service providers will appreciate you more as a client if they know about how long the job will run.
