Introduction

My passion is animals plain and simple and has been for decades. I have had many of my own fur babies over the years and still do and I know from first hand experience how important it is to have someone take care of them just like I do when I can't do it myself. That is why I make it my goal to do the same for all of my clients in order to establish the highest level of trust when I care for their critters, whether they are cats or dogs or horses (or chickens). I am equally comfortable and experienced with all of them and can provide references if need be to confirm my capabilities and diligence in caring for your pets just like you would whenever you're not able to be there.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is fairly straightforward. I charge $35 for a half hour visit and $40 for a 45 minute visit and $45 for an hour visit. If it is a dog walking job, I charge the same whether it is for one or two or three or four dogs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Communicate by phone or text initially and then set up a time to meet for a no charge initial interview at a local coffee shop or their home and go over the particulars of their needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have decades of experience dealing with horses and dogs and cats and chickens as well. I can do a fair amount of doctoring if need be, which Littleton Equine Medical Center can vouch for. I am quite attuned to animals and can generally pick up on when something isn't quite right and can handle emergencies quickly and calmly.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I guess it kind of started when I began riding horses at the age of 9 and developed over many decades having numerous animals in my life. After I raised my kids, I started working part time and eventually discovered that pet care was my niche. It lights me up and fills my soul, so I know it's part of my calling in life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
The types of jobs that I do for my clients are as varied as they are, so I can't really pigeon hole that answer. I will say, though, that I have worked for some very wealthy clients who have entrusted me with gate and garage codes and house keys in order to access their house when they are gone, which enables me to not only care for their animals, but also water plants, collect mail and packages and put them in the house and check on things in general.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
It's not really a project per se, but I often take pictures of clients' pets and send them in texts, along with details of my visit, and I enjoy getting feedback from them as to how comforting those reports are and how it gives them peace of mind knowing how well their fur babies are being taken care of.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My best advice would be to remember the old adage that you get what you pay for. I may not be the least expensive pet care provider in the area, but you will definitely get your money's worth when you hire me. With age comes experience and that's why I prefer "more mature" pet sitters.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I think those would be particular to the animal and their specific needs.
