Introduction

We are Your Best Friend’s Friend (YBFF), a pet sitting & dog walking company formed more than 25 years ago that services the South Metro Denver area including South Denver, South Aurora, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Englewood, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and other areas. We offer pet and home care which can be pet sitting if you are out of town, and daily walks when you are working. All of the YBFF team is here because we love animals, love what we do and we know what we would expect with someone taking care of our own pets. We work hard to personalize and customize any type of pet care need you may have. We are an insured and bonded company and we are active members of PSI. All YBFF team members are experienced, background checked, and trained in dog, cat, horse, fish, bird care and more. YBFF knows that your animals are more than pets; they are family members. They capture our hearts, share our homes, and are often given the same status as our children. That’s why choosing the right care for them is so important. Our business is our only business and we take it very seriously and work diligently to earn and preserve the trust of our customers. We are very proud to feel we are the absolute best pet service available, and we’re happy to prove it.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer visits from 15 minutes to 1 hour, and pricing is based on the length of the visit. For detailed information, please contact us directly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
After setting up a profile on our portal, we schedule a complimentary Meet and Greet to meet you and your pets, so that we can go over any details you would like us to know about your pet and their routine. We will answer any questions you have about YBFF and how we operate and will go over the pets' particular needs. The information obtained from the new client meeting is entered into our system in a very detailed manner and updated when needed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Everyone on the team at YBFF has been around all types of animals throughout their life. If there is a particular animal they are not familiar with, they will receive training before caring for that type of pet. The team is trained extensively with the owner other team members prior to going alone on a job.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Animals have always been an integral part of my life. I am a Colorado native and have, since childhood, owned pets of various types…horses, dogs, cats, birds, and more. I've never been without pets in my life. I am currently the proud pet mom of 2 rescues. After many years working in the corporate world, I decided to follow my heart and find a way to be around and work with animals. Large or small, indoors or outdoors, much happiness does indeed come from being with pets. With my business background and my love for animals, Your Best Friend’s Friend was the perfect fit for me. I absolutely love what I do and love the team I have slowly created over the years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All Pet Lovers :) from every walk of life. We have the best clients in the world.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Research the person or company thoroughly. These are some tips on things to look for and to ask: - Start with making sure you are within their service area. - Do they have liability insurance and are bonded - Are their pet sitters actual employees or independent contractors? - Is there a background check on all pet care providers - Are they members of any professional pet-sitting organizations - How do sitters/walkers keep track of their schedules - How many dogs do they walk at once - What training is done for new employees, and what is required - Will my dog ever be unleashed - Have you handled my dog's specific issue before (special needs, etc.) - Is there a manager/supervisor who handles scheduling and monitors the employees every day - Does the office keep regular office hours? If you left a message for services how soon would the call be returned Often when people think about finding a pet sitter or dog walker, they think of a single person or a very small company, which is fine and there are many wonderful pet care providers out there who operate by themselves or with one other person. That is how we too started. However, a pet sitter/dog walker who is only one person starts their day at 5am and ends it at 9 or 10 pm. It's very difficult to do and a reason many burn out and give up. Pet owners believe that having only one sitter will make for a better experience for their pets. We work in shifts so there are morning/mid team members and mid/night team members. While we try to keep the same couple of people on a job, sometimes there might be another involved if someone is sick, has a day off during a longer pet sit or in any type of emergency. Just something to consider while making your decision on a pet care provider.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Here are just a few things to consider/ask: - What is the normal schedule for your pet(s), when do they get up, go to bed, eat, walk, go outside to potty - How is your pet's health, medications, concerns - Factor in the age of your pet and the special needs of that - Has your pet ever been left alone overnight - Has your pet ever been taken care of by someone else - Has anyone ever entered your home while you were not there, how did your pet react - How does your pet interact with other pets - Are there any issues between pets in this home, fights, etc. - Is your yard secure - How many visits each day will your pet require, how many hours does your dog normally go at night before needing to relieve himself
