Introduction

We love pets, especially dogs, and we're gratified to give them the loving care that they deserve. Since the business has grown steadily I now work with my friends, Kevin, Brenda, Marilyn, Michelle and Nina to provide the best loving care for your pet(s) that we can. We work as a team, sharing assignments, so that in the event something unforeseen occurs you may rest assured your pet(s) will be well cared for. We are licensed, bonded and insured, mature, reliable and honest. We are PSI members and certified in Pet first aid & CPR. In other words, We are professionals and take caring for your pet(s) seriously. It’s as important to us as it is to you! Getting to know and care for so many different and wonderful pets has been wonderful, enlightening and fun. We’ve owned and cared for all kinds of pets all our lives but some of us no longer have our own. So it gives us a great deal of satisfaction to pour out our love for pets, especially dogs, when we care for others’. We’re honored and humbled that our clients trust us to care for their loved ones when they can't.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Before caring for your pet(s) I require an initial consultation usually lasting 30-45 minutes at no charge. During this time I get a chance to meet you, your pet(s), exchange contact information and review the details of the care I will give your pet(s) in your absence. This meeting is crucial to my giving your pets exactly the type of care you want me to provide in your absense.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Pet First Aid offered by the American Red Cross and Paws N Claws911. Enrolled in certification course offered by Pet Sitters International. I continue to read books and online articles about dogs, puppies, pet care, dog training, cat and dog dietary needs, etc. I have been a home remodeling/repair contractor for 25+ years before going into the pet care business in January, 2014.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've owned and cared for all kinds of pets all my life. I began taking my landlord's dog with me while I took a daily 1 hour walk in Alapocas Run State Park. At my age it became sensible for me to stop hauling sheets of plywood and drywall around and start giving pets the loving care they deserve. It's easier physically and I've found that it's more fun and rewarding than I ever expected it would be!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Pet owners who need care for their pets while they're away from home - for an extended workday, out-of-town vacation or business travel. I accept last minute assignments from existing clients when we're available and at additional cost. Since becoming a professional I've cared for dogs, cats, turtles, a frog, fresh and salt-water fish, hampsters, parrots and a corn snake. But my services are mostly used by dog and cat owners.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
References/reviews from former and existing clients are the best indicator of what a pet care professional is really like.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Exactly what services you'd like your pet sitter/dog walker to perform in your absence and for how long you'd like him to stay at each visit.
