Language of Animals was founded in 2018 after Kendra (the owner) started volunteering at a local animal shelter in the cattery, where she attended to 50+ cats in a sitting. After that, she decided to share her passion all over the St.Pete/Tampa Bay Area and has cared for dogs (large and small breeds), cats, bearded dragons, monkeys, fish, and peacocks! What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When someone connects with us, we follow up via phone, email, or text to learn more about the animals and when they need care. After that, we schedule a meet-and-greet to get to know each other and ensure a great fit.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Language of Animals was founded after Kendra (owner) started volunteering in their cattery at a local animal shelter. It was here that she realized my desire to do this on a larger scale for more people and pets while serving as an advocate for the well-being of animals.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked with humans going on short—and long-term trips (2+ weeks) or people needing extra hands throughout the day. We've also worked with cats, rabbits, monkeys, dogs (small and large breeds), hamsters, peacocks, fish, and bearded dragons! We also have experience caring for animals who are older or have disabilities.
