Welcome to Lezlie’s Pet Sitting – Where Your Pet’s Care Comes First At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, we take the care, safety, and well-being of your pets as seriously as you do. From the moment you start working with us, our goal is to make sure you feel confident, supported, and fully informed every step of the way. Getting Started The first step is to schedule a meet and greet. This gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your pet, understand your needs and routines, and ensure we’re a great fit for your family. During this visit, we’ll also help set you up in our easy-to-use scheduling software, Time to Pet. Time to Pet: Simple & Transparent Time to Pet is the secure platform we use to manage visits, send updates, and streamline communication. At the meet and greet, we’ll walk you through exactly how to use it—from booking services and messaging our team to receiving visit reports with photos and notes after each appointment. Our Team Approach To provide the most reliable care possible, we use a team-based approach to pet sitting and dog walking. This means that while you may have a primary sitter or walker, another trained team member may step in when needed (for example, during time off or emergencies). This ensures your pet is never left without care. All of our team members go through a thorough background check and in-house training process to ensure they meet our high standards. You can learn more about our vetting and training process below. We understand how personal pet care is, and we’re here to build a relationship based on trust, reliability, and compassion. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions—we’re always happy to help!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Lezlie’s Pet Sitting began in 2007 as a small, neighborhood-based service when I started caring for pets belonging to friends and family. As demand steadily grew, I expanded the business by bringing on independent contractors to help meet client needs. By 2020, our team had grown to 14 trusted walkers and sitters. Since then, we've expanded even further — now proudly operating with a team of over 30 dedicated pet care professionals. During this growth, we made the important transition from working with independent contractors to hiring employees. This shift has allowed us to implement more consistent policies and procedures, elevate the quality of service, and maintain a higher standard of care across the board. At the heart of this business is a deep love and respect for animals. That passion has guided every decision and has helped us build a team of compassionate, well-trained individuals who share the same commitment to exceptional pet care.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, we care for both cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Our team is experienced in working with pets who may be shy, hesitant, or fearful, and we’re committed to providing gentle, patient care that meets each animal where they are. To ensure the safety of our staff and all pets in our care, we are unable to provide services for animals with a history of human aggression or biting. While we are comfortable handling pets with minor behavioral challenges, we prioritize maintaining a safe environment for everyone involved. If you're unsure whether your pet is a good fit for our services, we’re happy to discuss your specific situation during the initial consultation.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, one of the services we’re particularly proud of was providing long-term care for a family with multiple pets while they were away on an extended vacation. This service spanned three weeks and required a customized plan to meet the diverse needs of their household. The family had two dogs, one senior and one energetic puppy, as well as three cats. Our care plan included: Daily dog walks and playtime: The puppy needed structured walks to burn off energy, while the senior dog required slower, shorter strolls. Medication administration: One of the cats was on a strict medication schedule, which we adhered to precisely. Enrichment and companionship: All the pets needed quality time, whether it was cuddles with the cats or interactive games for the puppy. Home care: We managed additional tasks like mail collection and plant watering to ensure the household stayed in order. Our team-based approach ensured seamless care throughout the duration. While a primary sitter managed most visits, a trained backup sitter handled a few to maintain consistency when needed. Regular updates with photos and notes were shared via Time to Pet, giving the family peace of mind throughout their travels. This service was especially rewarding because it highlighted the strength of our processes, from tailored care plans to teamwork and excellent communication. It’s moments like these that remind us why we’re passionate about what we do—helping families feel confident and cared for, no matter how long they’re away.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
When looking for a dog walking or pet sitting provider, it’s important to find a service that prioritizes safety, consistency, and clear communication—especially when you're trusting someone with your home and your beloved pets. Here are a few key things to look for: Meet-and-Greet Consultation: Always choose a provider who offers a thorough meet-and-greet before services begin. At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, we use this time to learn about your pet’s routine, behavior, and specific needs while also walking you through our scheduling and communication system, Time to Pet. Reliable Team Structure: Ask about how they handle coverage in case your regular sitter is unavailable. We use a team-based approach to ensure your pet is never left without care, and every team member is trained and background-checked. Professional Standards: Look for a provider with a structured training process and clear policies. At Lezlie’s, our employees complete a multi-step hiring and training program, including bite prevention, dog body language, and supervised field training. This allows us to provide consistent, high-quality service to every client. Transparent Communication: Choose a service that keeps you in the loop. With us, you'll receive detailed updates, photos, and visit reports through our app, so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing. Experience with a Variety of Pets: Whether your pet is shy, energetic, or has specific quirks, make sure the provider has experience with a wide range of personalities. We work with pets of all ages and temperaments and tailor our care to fit each one. Ultimately, look for a service that treats your pet like family, has dependable systems in place, and is open and responsive to your needs. We built Lezlie’s Pet Sitting on those values—and we’re proud to offer care you can trust.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
When considering professional dog walking or pet sitting services, it’s helpful for pet parents to think through a few key questions ahead of time. This helps ensure the provider understands your needs and can offer the best possible care for your pet. At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, we encourage potential clients to reflect on the following: 1. What is your pet’s daily routine? Understanding your pet’s feeding, potty, and exercise schedule helps us create a care plan that keeps them comfortable and consistent. Think about: -Meal times and portion sizes -Walking preferences and leash behavior -Playtime and enrichment routines 2. What service duration and frequency do you need? Decide how often and how long you need visits. For example: -Daily midday dog walks while you’re at work? -Multiple visits per day while you’re traveling? -Our "Almost Overnights" option (evening + morning coverage) for added companionship? 3. Does your pet have any medical or behavioral considerations? Sharing information about medications, past injuries, anxiety triggers, or behavioral quirks (such as fear of strangers or loud noises) helps us provide the safest and most comfortable experience for your pet. 4. Are you comfortable with a team-based care model? At Lezlie’s Pet Sitting, we use a team approach to ensure availability and reliability. While you’ll likely have a primary sitter, a trained backup may step in as needed. Consider whether you're comfortable with this level of coverage and consistency. 5. What are your expectations for communication? Would you like visit updates with photos? Do you prefer text, app notifications, or email? We use Time to Pet for all communication and reporting, and we want to be sure our methods work well for you. 6. What home access and instructions will be needed? Think through logistics like key exchange, alarm codes, gate access, and any house rules we should follow while visiting your pet. Having clear answers to these questions before reaching out helps streamline the process and ensures we can tailor our services to meet your pet's specific needs. We're here to make pet care stress-free, safe, and dependable—for both you and your furry family member.
