Introduction

As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to find the right people to care for our "fur babies". Over the last nine years, dog walking and pet sitting has become my full-time job. It's a dream come true to care for animals when their humans can't be there. Outside of regular pet duties (feed, water, play, litter, walk) I can bring in your mail, newspapers, bring in/take out your trash cans, adjust your blinds, turn on/off TV/stereo, adjust lighting, and even water some plans if you like. You can pay me via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check. I look forward to caring for your animals as I would my own.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I do offer a free visit with each referral.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My typical process working with a new client is to set up a Meet and Greet. This is where both the client and I have a chance to meet, as well as the clients pets, and determine if we are all a good fit for each other. Generally, the Meet and Greet takes place in the potential clients new home, but it can also take place in a public setting if the potential client feels more comfortable. During the Meet and Greet, I will gather information that I need in order to care for a potential clients pets in their absence. It is also an opportunity for the potential client to ask any questions they may have for me.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Like many others, the Great Recession impacted my corporate career. While looking for a job in my field, pet sitting was something I started to do just to get me out of the house and provide me with something to do. I quickly realized that spending time this way was not only less stressful and intensive, but something I really loved and enjoyed.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would recommend that clients ask their potential pet care provider if they are, at the very least, insured. It protects both the pet professional and the client. I would also ask the pet professional what their backup situation is incase of an emergency.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What services are provided with my visit(s)? Does the pet care professional have experience with my pets special needs? What are the hours/times available to me and my pet for visit times?
