Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
To provide our pet care professionals with a livable wage we are unable to offer discounts at this time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We set up a phone or video chat to talk and get to know each other a little better. That's when I get a better idea of how we can best provide dog walking or pet sitting services to clients and their fur babies. Next, we get you set up in our client portal (the Time To Pet app), and set up an in-person meeting with a pet care provider. This allows us to get familiar with your family and fur babies to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident moving forward.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Pet CPR and first aid certified I volunteered to care for animals for several years and have had pets my entire life. I began working as a veterinary assistant in 2016 and since then I have worked as a vet tech as well as a veterinary clinic manager. I founded my dog-walking and pet-sitting business in 2019, and have gained a lot of knowledge, experience, and expertise from that as well.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I first started pet sitting for neighbors when I was a kid, and was finally able to get back into in when I began working in vet med in 2016. I love caring for animals so much that I decided to pursue it, and am very grateful to be able to make caring for animals my full time job.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have been very fortunate to work with some of the most loving, nurturing, compassionate, and kind pet parents over the past several years. I really enjoy being able to provide all of my families with peace of mind, knowing that they are being loved and looked after when I have then in my care. People are their most loving selves when they are expressing love and care for their pets, so I get to see the best in all of the families that I have the privilege of working with.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would definitely recommend looking for someone who is loving, kind, knowledgeable, and has formal experience and training working with animals. It is important for any dog walker or pet sitter to have experience and be able to read animal body language. Professional training and lots of experience means they can better identify, prevent, and respond to any potentially dangerous situations. That way they are best able to love and care for your pets while keeping them safe. I also strongly encourage finding someone who has professional pet sitters insurance and is pet CPR and first aid certified.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What are you looking for in a pet care provider? What do you need and want to get out of this new relationship for both you and your fur baby?
