Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Depends on the service

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will start with some basic questions followed by a meet and greet!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Bachelor in Biology and Veterinary Technician certificate.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I used to be a veterinary technician and manager. During that time, I was often pet sitting on the side. I then decided to start my own business in order to help animals in the comfort of their home.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Mostly professionals in Asheville

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have been walking a Corgi named Muck who has degenerative myelopathy. Therefore he is to be walked in his wheel chair for the past year. He has been quite a challenge since the pain level he is experiencing makes it difficult for me to handle him and place him in his wheelchair. My passion for animal welfare exceeds the fear of getting bitten. This is why I consider Muck a friend and love him as much as any other animal I care for. His grumpiness is understandable and I am just so grateful his owner has introduced us. Muck only lets his dad and myself handle him as of today!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Caring for animals can be a relatively easy tasks, but it is important to hire someone who will know how to handle an emergency. I have also heard too many times under qualified pet sitters lose client’s animals. Please make sure to hire a professional offering insurance and bond! I have personally come back to my dog missing after hiring someone on Rover.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Does my pet(s) have any behavioral issues such as leash aggressive or food guardian.
