What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We have a free New Client Meeting in your home with you and your pet that lasts about 15-30 minutes to get to know all about your pet and answer any questions that you have!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have over 15 years of professional pet care experience. We are pet first aid and CPR certified by Pet Pro Hero, have professional industry-specific liability insurance, and are bonded as well. All of our team members go through a rigorous hiring and training process, including pet and home safety, dog handling, and customer service training.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out working in vet hospitals, animal shelters and rescue, and fell in love with helping pets feel safe, understood, and cared for. After managing a high-volume shelter and then growing a successful dog walking company in another city, I launched Buffalo Dog Walkers to bring trusted, professional care to our local community. My parents did dog training and boarding professionally, and I grew up attending AKC dog shows with them - working with animals has been a part of my life since I can remember, and it's my passion.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with a wide range of pet parents - from busy professionals to working families, to seniors, travelers, and new puppy owners! Some clients need daily dog walks during the work week, and others rely on us for helping new puppies with potty breaks when they first join the family. We're experienced in customizing care based on each pet's need and every client's lifestyle.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently worked with a family who adopted a very nervous rescue dog. Over the course of several weeks, we built trust with daily visits and consistent handling. Pretty soon she was excited to see her walker and confidently exploring the neighborhood. It was a rewarding reminder of how patience, routine, and compassion can change a pet's world!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't just look for the cheapest price -- look for a provider who communicates clearly and promptly, has strong reviews, and treats your pet like family. Ask about training, back up coverage, and how updates are shared. A great provider should make you feel confident and at east, not uncertain.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It helps to know your pet's routine, energy level, any behavioral quirks, and what kind of care makes you feel most supported. Think about what your ideal schedule looks like, medical issues, meal times, any special training or commands you are working on. The more details you can share, the better we can tailor the care.
