Introduction

Hey there! My name is Marta. My family and I would love to help with your pet care and cleaning needs. We have 20+ yrs experience taking care of all sorts of animals: fresh and reef aquariums, snakes, lizards, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, chickens. We have given many types of medications and cared for special-needs pets. Animals are our passion and we are dedicated to making sure they get the best care possible. Whether you need short-term care for a trip or regular visits, we'd love to meet and care for your pets. Entrusting strangers with your home and loved ones can be scary, but having return business and referrals is far more important to us than a quick buck. My brother Jon, fiance Tucker, and I work together to ensure there is always someone available whenever your animals need. Your pets are our number one priority and we'll make sure they are never left without. My brother does overnights and most mid-day visits while I do morning and evening visits, occasional daytime depending on my schedule. The base rate is listed which includes up to 15 miles one way and up to three animals. It's an additional 70¢/mile after and $5 every three animals. Medications and special needs may also increase cost, to be determined on a case by case basis.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I always want to be fair in my pricing but not undersell my expertise and skill. I offer a discount on the next service for referrals.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I always want to meet with my customers in their home and make sure I know exactly what their expectations are for my service. This also gives me a chance to see the home and meet any pets so they are more comfortable the next time I'm in their home. We'll discuss cost based on actual conditions and expectations.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was pre-veterinary in college and have worked many years at an open-play dog daycare. I have several pets currently and have had all sorts from reptiles to fish to cats and dogs for my entire life. My current pets are almost all 10+yrs old. A green iguana, large constrictor snakes, cats, and numerous fish tanks both reef and fresh. We also have an almost-2yr old Rottweiler who absolutely loves everyone.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always had a passion for animals (I carried around an encyclopedia of mammals in middle school!). I love to get to know them and learn everything I can. There were not many accessible vets where I grew up, so we did a lot of care ourselves. Cleaning is a big part of animal care and I have always enjoyed keeping a clean house.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have cared for dogs, cats, an Amazon parrot named Charlie, chinchillas, aquariums, snakes. I've worked for people in a range of professions, from truck drivers to postmen to military members and doctors as well as retirees.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It's always best to have them meet your pets beforehand so you can see how they interact with your pet and so it isn't a complete stranger walking in to your home when you aren't there. They should want to make your pet as comfortable as possible.
