Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
$100/night Visits? $25-30 Please keep in mind that these rates may vary depending on the level of service needed...

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Complimentary Meet & Greet is required.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Yes! I like to research a lot on my own and share amongst fellow animal care providers... As a member of Pet Sitters International, I'm currently working towards certification.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
While volunteering in rescue in 2005, another volunteer asked me to consider overnight pet/house-sitting for his and his wife's "pack." Five dogs and two cats with varying issues: tripod that bit people (RIP), next oldest dog that will bite other dogs in the house, black lab with tiny bladder due to being hit by a car (never away more than two hours!), an emotionally needy/older boston-mix that wanted me all to herself, a feral dog, a dog that has neurological issues due to surviving distemper, a cat with asthma that I saved from an asthma attack (& discovered via x-rays that it had cancer) and a cat that has developed a form of leukemia-like cancer. The tripod was the only one that made me work for his trust...&...it was gained soon after. I still sit for this crew to this day and that is how I decided to do this full-time!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Feeding, watering, medicating and loving their pets as if they were my own. Of course, mail/newspaper/plant watering!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Nine dogs and eight horses...LOL. Loved it! Hard, but rewarding work...

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Trust your instincts... You know your pets best. Don't take the lowest offer, unless you think it's the best provider for your pet.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How much time I really love and care for your pet in your absence.
