Introduction

Hi! I’m Laurie! I started my Laurie’s Precious Pets business in Lebanon Ohio, in the fall of 2020. I moved to Sanger, TX on Nov 1st, to be closer to my daughter. My business in Lebanon went well. I had many repeat customers and I can provide references on request. I’ve had cats &/or dogs or watched my friends, all my life. I volunteered at a cat rescue off/on for 4yrs (2017-2021) I fostered, medicated, fed, cleaned & socialized cats/kittens. I also helped with TNR (trapped, neutered & returned), by doing the trapping and return. I’ve had many customers over the last 4yrs with dogs, cats, chickens, geckos, lizards, horses and birds. I’m willing to sit with just about any animal, if I’m shown what to do!

unfold fold

Additional $5 for gas, if necessary, each round trip All starting prices will go up based on the level of effort(distance &/or time on the job).

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
They reach out to me, I respond & we ask & answer questions, usually through the app or text, then I provide them with a quote. If everything is satisfactory, we schedule a meet & greet so we can meet in person, including the animals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
No animal specific training other than hands on while pet sitting. I am looking into different certifications, including life resuscitation for animals, but I haven't signed up for any yet.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I am retired from 35yrs in IT. Currently this is my full time job. I was initially doing delivery work when I ran across pet sitting jobs. I decided to give it a try & turns out I love it!! 😁 I really enjoy meeting & taking care of all the new & different pets!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
After 4 1/2 yrs of being an official "pet sitter", I've met many different types of customers & Pets. From a family owning 9 chickens, to families with single &/or multiple cats &/or dogs. I've had as many as 6 for a week, anywhere from cat & small dog, up to a Doberman Pincher. It really ranges across the bored, and the majority of pet owners & and pets have been very nice and good to work with.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have watched 4 dogs & 3 cats for someone twice now, that has all rescue animals. Some have disabilities or are skittish from their background, but oh my gosh I fell in love with these 4 the minute I met them 😁 I don't know what it was, but after sitting for them when I said goodbye to the animals, I teared up, lol. It hasnt happened before or since, but these guys just grabbed my heart 🥰

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure to contact up to at least 3 pro's, if possible. Everyone is different & you never know what additional services or discounts you may find.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How they expect the visit to go, from start times, expected visit time, interaction, cleanup & cost. Also, check prof's area, may have to add gas.
