Introduction

When it comes to pet sitting, the difference between us and most other similar services is that we do not charge for multiple pets, to give medications, and we accept all breeds and temperaments. As a pet sitter, we accept aggressive pets no matter the cause. We accept all kinds of pets (cats, birds, reptiles, etc) I have 5 years of veterinary technician experience as well.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our fees are based on our time at your home and not by the number of pets. No charge for giving medications. We only charge for mileage when needed.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
After initial contact we set up a meet and greet or evaluation, depending on the service. Then depending on the service which direction we go from there. Whether it's scheduling the first lesson or the next step for pet sitting.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We had to go through formal training to do dog training, held private security license from the State of Texas. I had formal and on the job training as a Vet Tech. We even still go through continuing education classes.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As a teenager I worked for a grooming place. Always being around animals from home to family and family farms I liked being around the animals more. Later I got a job as a Dog Trainer and began studying to be a Vet Tech. I spent 5 years as a Veterinarian Technician before starting K-9 Companion Pet Services with my husband. He began training dogs after we started dating. We have worked in Kennels and Doggie Daycare.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Every kind I believe. From young to old and handicapped.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
To ask questions. Ask about methods and locations. If you are considering a Board & Train to consider all the options and to look at what your pet is doing and make sure that private lessons or group or board and trains are what's best. Can a board and train really fix the problem.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
To understand that training is not an overnight process. Some behaviors take time to correct. And that being consistent is the only way they are going to get what they want.
