Introduction

My name is Beth Manning. I started Critter Care Pet Sitting Services in 2005 when I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a deep love for animals and their welfare. For me, animals are a never ending source of joy and happiness in my life. This is why I love my line of work. It gives me the opportunity to return all the wonderful gifts the animals in our lives bestow upon us. I take great pleasure in meeting new people and their pet(s). Every person and their pets has a unique story and bond. I care for your pets and home in your absence just as you would on a daily basis paying close attention to important details. During the initial no obligation to hire interview, I ask a lot of questions to be sure I understand the clents expectations and needs. This is my full time job which I put all of my focus on to be sure everything is done correctly and all bases are covered. A large percentage of my clients who hire me are word of mouth from other happy clients. My clients can see the results in the happiness of their pets when they arrive home. I love meeting new people and of course their animals. I thrive on making people and their fur babies happy and exceeding their expectations in the services I offer. It is very satisfying for me.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am able to customize the services I offer to suite a Client's needs and their pet's needs. Not every situation is the same. Some dogs need more excercise while others may need just a quick visit. Other pets may be more stressed or anxious when their families leave so I allow more time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The new customer, their pet (s), and I will get together for a no obligation to hire meet and greet. During this time I listen to the customer's needs and together we devise a care plan for their pets and home. I leave the necessary paperwork with the client after the meet and greet so if they decide to hire me, we will be set to go for the first date of service.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have completed an Animal Husbandry course in college. I have also volunteered at Animal Welfare Organizations.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In 2005, I moved to Salt Lake City to be near my sister. As I was settling in, I started to volunteer at a local animal rescue organization. During this time I saw there was a need for quality Pet Care Provider's in the area. I took my love of animals and people and started Critter Care Pet Sitting Services. It has been the most fulfilling career of my life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with corporate executives, expecting parents, families, doctors, people experiencing transition in their lives, business professionals, lawyers, teachers, retirees, persons who are being transferred to the area or recently moved here, and many other people from various walks of life.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Interview two to three Pet Care Providers so you can compare services and find the person whom you and your Pet (s) are the most comfortable with. Be certain they are insured, after all you are trusting them with your loved ones and your home. Ask the potential Pet Care Provider how long they have been in business. Is this their full time occupation?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It is very important to think about what your pet and home will need in your abscence. Making a list is always a good idea. Is the person I am hiring the one who will be caring for my pet (s) and home? How much time will you spend with my pet (s) in a given day? What time will you arrive at my home? How long will you stay? What if there is an emergeny with my pet or home? What is your protocol as my Pet Care provider? Will you send me updates on my pet (s) and home while I am away? How does payment work? Do I pay you now or later? There are lots of questions to ponder. Whom ever you hire should be able to easily and readily address all of your concerns.
