Introduction

I specialize in door installation. At present i mostly work with AMC Doors in South SF. I have no partners or helpers as i do all the work myself. I started out in San Francisco working as a painter and eventually received carpentry training and this eventually led to 25 years restoring Victorian houses in San Francisco. As this came to a close, I found myself working as a finish carpenter mainly in San Matao County. My main focus at this time is exterior door installation on single family homes. I offer a three-year warranty on my work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After making an appointment, i measure for the new door. If it is standard as in newer construction, a door can be purchased at a place like Lowes or Home Depot. If the house is older construction the height and jam width may be an odd measurement. In this case the door company can make it to my exact measurements. When the door is ready for pick up i will do so and make an appointment to install the door. Upon completion a check or Zelle is fine.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was trained and worked as a carpenter for many years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out painting in 1976 and after 3 years of this i joined a building and painting co. The rest is history

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Get references, and pictures of jobs completed as doors require a lot of experience.
