Introduction

140 five star reviews! Project photos! Cabinets! Doors! Trim and Molding! Floating shelves! Mantels! Window seats! Bookcases! Good design results from the amount of thought you put into something and when it comes to upgrades to your home experience matters. For more than 30 years I've built, remodeled and repaired homes. I started out working for home builders who in those days were true house carpenters. We built one house at a time , start to finish, with a handful of skilled tradesmen, not a bunch of subs. I acquired a vast amount of knowledge and skill over the years that I bring to every job I do. If there's one thing that uniquely qualifies me to work on your home, that's it. Long before the internet and how - to videos, long before the DIY channel with so-called design/ remodeling experts I was building houses. You learn this trade hands-on, by doing. Not by watching someone else. There's no substitute for hands-on experience. There's no such thing as an instant expert. If you want to know what it's like to work with me, read the reviews. Professional, knowledgeable, on time, quality and craftsmanship, customer friendly. If you appreciate the "old-school" way of doing things, I'm a one-room school house! Serving Pinellas County I specialize in single family homes and the following types of projects: Trim and molding installation: Installation of the following new items inside the home. Crown molding, door and window casing, baseboard, wainscoting, chair rail, accent walls. I come to your house to measure the rooms. Minimum: 41+ linear feet. Door installation: Installation of the following new types of doors. Interior: Pre-hung or slab, solid or hollow core. Bi fold. Pocket. Bi pass. French or double. Front entry. Front entry with side light. Front entry double. Standard lockset and dead bolt. No screen/storm doors. No sliders. I come to your house to measure door sizes. Required: Opening already exists. Cabinet installation: Installation of the following new items inside the home. Base and upper kitchen cabinets. Island cabinets. Crown molding, light rail and toe kick and hardware. Bathroom vanity cabinets. Office cabinets. Minimum: 6+ cabinets. I come to your house to look at the job. Required: Cabinet lay out drawing. Is your kitchen space ready for cabinets to be installed? If necessary, have the electrical and plumbing been relocated? Custom carpentry projects: Cabinets, bookshelves, mantels, built-ins, one of a kind projects. Stair building. Window seats. If there are other improvements, remodeling projects you're thinking about, just ask. Your job is important. I will return your call, text or email. I will keep appointments. I'm a reasonably priced, experienced professional and I bring a lot of skill, know how and thought to every job, even the smallest ones. Your job will be done completely and in a timely fashion with craftsmanship and professionalism. Clean background. Honorably discharged veteran. Amputee. Estimates are job specific after a job site visit. Many of my customers remark about how easy it is to work with me. My timeliness, and willingness to communicate with them also rates high.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
i will be happy to give you an estimate after coming to your house to look at the job. each job presents its own logistical challenges. each homeowner has their own individual wish list

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to look at the job and talk to the client to see just where they are with their planning, what their needs are

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
30+ years experience in residential building, remodeling and repairs. some commercial experience too.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started building houses more than 30 years ago . from the foundation to the last shingle on the roof. that experience and knowledge uniquely qualify me to work on your home.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
homeowners who do their home work before starting a remodeling project are usually the easiest to work with. they understand that the type of work they're thinking of undertaking is not as simple as it seems. not as simple as it appears on the DIY network or you tube. then there are others who start projects only to find themselves overwhelmed by the amount of work involved and the details. which one are you?

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
i'm fond of all the jobs I do, big or small, fancy or plain. my work makes a positive contribution to someone's life. when the job's done their home's a little bit nicer place to live in. not all professions can say that, though maybe they should.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
check reviews and photos. make sure the pro you're talking to does your type of job. if you pick someone with a good profile and lots of great reviews, they're probably somewhat busy, so they're not likely to be immediately available. keep that in mind.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
what makes up the whole job? be open-minded and let the pros you talk to give you their take on the project. there may be something you overlooked. another thing homeowners should consider. materials and other components used in today's home remodeling projects are scaled-down versions of products that were available years ago. items are not being made the way they once were and many jobs require that these items be augmented or supplemented in some way. beware of what you buy on-line! ask your installer's advice.
