At Mr Handyman we are your one stop shop for all your home repair, maintenance and upgrade needs. We are licensed, insured and bonded. All our professionals are background checked. They wear uniforms, arrive in clearly marked vans and you are alerted via text and email when they leave for your home and when they arrive. The text and email will provide you with a picture of the Service Professional assigned to your job. We offer a one year "Done Right Guarantee" for our craftsmanship. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

As an locally owned and independent owner of a Mr Handyman franchise we use scope of work pricing based on national averages.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

On the initial call we may ask for pictures or may be able to provide a range of pricing for the job. If necessary we will provide an on site estimate. If we can do the job that day and you accept the pricing we'll do the work. If we need to order materials or estimate a multi day job, we'll reach out from the office once the estimate is completed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our field service professionals have a minimum of 8 years multi-faceted experience in various trades within the Handyman spectrum. The Mr Handyman business is Age Safe Certified and capable of home assessments for aging in place as well performing necessary installations and modifications to the home.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

We all have different stories. But the common theme between us is that we like to fix things. We take pride in that.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Any homeowner or commercial client that accepts our bids for the jobs

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We completed a deck repair - damaged railing, deck boards and stairs one story high. It took 2 days to perform the repairs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure they are insured, bonded for your financial protection. Also make sure their field staff is background checked so you can feel comfortable in and around your home. In NC Handyman services is not a licensed trade, but do make sure they are registered business within one county nearby and/or are a member of the Better Business Bureau. We have done more work that we would have liked for clients who gave their money to fly by night persons and only did part of the job, or none at all.

Think about what you are willing to spend for a project. It will make your decision easier. Be wary of the lowest bidder. See our advice question to understand why.
