Introduction

One man team, saving up for a home down payment and helping my wife through college. I have several years of experience as a finish carpenter. I've completed work for a few of the finest homes in Holladay, Park City, and Los Angeles. I can also frame, build and install cabinets, create custom wood wall art, and many other specialty carpentry projects. I focus on transparency, managing expectations and executing all work with efficacy. I look for a long-term solution for you, even if it means the solution does not involve my work. Consultations and advice are always free.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer an hourly jobsite working rate of $75.00/hr plus materials for all finish carpentry. If the project is bigger, (most likely to be over $1,000) I will instead make a bid to present. If you are not pleased with my work, I will only charge for materials and tool usage.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When working with new people, I like to make a 5-7 minute call to get details about their vision about their project, and what our expectations are as carpenter and client. If we decide to move forward, I’ll take measurements on site and provide a bid usually within a few days. The bid includes a brief cost breakdown and a timeline for the project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
4 years as finish carpenter. Currently enrolled in the Construction Management program in college.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was recommended by my dad to apply to a finish carpentry team. I loved it and have been woodworking ever since. I have always been innovating and perfecting the art.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
low-budget entrepreneurs to CEOs of large businesses. Mostly homeowner couples with and without children, with or without pets.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am honestly fond of every project I’ve worked on. I like the hard ones that take me time to draw up and plan. They are the most fun to build and see come alive!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If you want a quality project done by the right carpenter for you, meet in person with the builder and ask for real samples of wood joints, casing connections, etc. and look at their quality. Usually their sample joints are the standard for every piece they'll install for you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are all your fees from initial contact to finish? Are there other trades that will need to be contacted regarding my project?
