Introduction

My main intent of starting a company is to do what I always wanted out of a contractor. Always be up front, honest and always be willing to talk to the customer that you are doing work for so that they are not worried about something going wrong with their project.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I went to Fox Valley Technical College and have an associate's degree in Electrical Engineering. I then went into the state-sponsored apprenticeship program and got my Journeyman card. After that, I spent a few years studying and passed the Wisconsin Master Electrician exam!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always known wanted to be an electrician. It is something that I have always enjoyed as it is something that is different almost every day and can challenge me by the problems that customers might come to me with.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked mostly with homeowners. Whether it is new or experienced homeowners, I treat everyone with respect and am sure to communicate clearly. I've also done small jobs for some commercial properties in my area.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I installed a receptacle, breaker, and interlock kit on someone's home so that they could use their own generator to power their home instead of having to pay many times over my cost to have a whole home generator installed. It took about 3 hours to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Try your best to find small, family-owned companies! There are so many large companies out there now that are owned by investment companies that only worry about making money. There is a clear difference in how you are treated, serviced, and the price you are given to do any work in your home. I have found that smaller, family-owned companies are much more likely to have customers' best interests in mind.
