What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I would prefer to know and or see as much as i could pertaining to the job so i can give the fairest most competitive price possible .The end result would either be a negotiated flat rate or a set hourly rate plus materials depending on what the customer is comfortable with.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Greet and introduce myself and verify the issue or work they would like to have done with a price (if possible when not on site).If that is not possible i would suggest an on - site estimate if possible.Offer any information pertaining to my experience level,license,insurance if needed.Suggest ways to fullfill their needs at the lowest possible price without waste or sacrificing quality or safety.Provide a cost effective estimate in a timely manner.Let them know i am looking forward to taking care of their needs and hope to hear from them in the future

Alexander Hamilton vocational and technical high school in New York City 1975-1977, Employed with various Electrical contractors in the New York city area from 1971-1984,Pinellas county florida 1984-1986.Hillsborough ,Pinellas ,Pasco county Master Electrician 1986-2002, State of Florida Master Electrician 2003-present.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father was an electrician with the New York city transit authority who worked repairing the subway trains in the 1960's. He would take me to work with him when i was a child and i starting picking up knowledge then .We worked together until i was 18 and then i set off on my own and it took off from there.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Residential homeowners,investors , general contractors, major restaurants like burger king ,wendys, ringpower,churchs,office and apartment complexes,etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

A repeat customer who is a retired and widowed schoolteacher who had another one of her many electrical issues whose problem i fixed but after her explaining her situation i didnt have the heart to charge her anything .This lady insisted she pay which i refused .But thats not what got me .What touched me were her kind words days later thanking me so much which moved me about how tough it could be for a lonely and struggling older person.I vowed never to charge for helping her again.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check their licensing and insurance credentials by contacting the dbpr state of florida website and try to never give out money ahead of time for labor unless its a written contract for more than a few days work on material deposits after checking credentials and still get partial or full lien releases signed by all before releasing any funds

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

1.Who will be doing the actual work and is the person(s) neat,clean,respectful of their time and property and dedicated to completing the project? 2.Prove licensing and insurance. 3.Is a permit required or desired 4.Explain and verify to all responsible parties the nature of the work and how it will be performed in writing and orally. 5.Make sure there is a agreed upon start and estimated completion date.
