What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is considered around average for the industry but the quality of our work and our warranty is unique as most large companies do not offer long, unlimited warranties. We do offer many options to allow for different budgets. Pricing on a service can be as little as 200.00 but a full service process with a great warranty can run upwards of 1000.00 on many homes.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We always like to discuss strategies, biology and the dynamics. We are not high pressure salesmen and prefer to discuss the biological reasons these can be either hard to eliminate or, in our case, surprisingly easy. So we initially discuss with our customer the environment and how the strategies apply. Once we have discussed the different processes available and you have decided to move forward with one, we send a prep sheet and discuss a potential schedule. Prep for this is much easier than the normal industry methods. Most companies have you do LOTS of prep, and the tech arrives mostly just to apply his service. We engage you in strategies that help make this absolutely successful, so we ask that all responsible adults (or youth) attend to stay around us to receive valuable instructions. This process can help you both become and stay bed bug free for as long as you want.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We are in-house trained. The standard industry methods are developed for technicians that may not have their heads in the job. We are constantly learning, but our process is completely based on industry IPM principles and insect biology. Our staff could qualify as entomologists.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

When the bed bug problem hit our community most of our competitors were either failing, charging high prices with little or no warranties or avoiding this service completely. Many companies, even now, continue to use old methodologies which require lots of prep, often many treatments, and yet little education. Without a useful understanding of this simple insect they can re-infest a home without your knowing how it could have been prevented.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of our customers have been residential homes, but we also are popular in the senior living assisted care campuses around Phoenix. We offer our services to both commercial and residential, and even provide good warranties to condo and apartment dwellers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Very recently we were called into a home where the tenant lived in a recliner 24/7, often in a darkly lit room. A heat treatment was not possible and a chemical treatment insufficient considering how easily these insects can live close to their host. This provided a problem that had been treated many times without a resolution. We ended up treating the chair she slept in with the non-chemical product (Beauveria Bassiana) without any real preparation. This process was very simple, easy (no real prep) and over the next 3 weeks eliminated 99% of the infestation and is well on its way to 100 control.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Our advice is to do a lot of research on both methodology and pricing. Ask about extra costs, warranties and limits to the warranty. Check the reputation, as some companies you will recognize have actually charged serious money, performed a service that did not eliminate them, and walked away from what little warranty was given. Also check reviews and on more than one website. How long have they been in business, Better Business Bureau accredited, etc.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Write down different treatment methods (ei chemical, heat, tenting, non-chemical, etc). As about warranty pertaining to each, conditions to their warranty (if they even have one). How long have they been in business (which can be verified).
