What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is designed to be simple. We can give you a price over the phone 95% of the time. Most of our customers opt for our subscription service plan (think Netflix for Pest). We also offer one-time services for people that don't like commitment.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Crosstown Pest Control, our process for working with a new customer begins with gathering information about their pest problem. We want to understand the type of pest they are dealing with, how severe the infestation is, and any other relevant details.
Once we have a good understanding of the customer's pest problem, we schedule a visit to their property to conduct an inspection. During the inspection, we assess the extent of the infestation and identify any potential entry points or areas of concern.
Based on the results of the inspection, we develop a customized treatment plan tailored to the customer's specific needs. We take into account any concerns they may have and make sure the treatment plan aligns with their expectations.
After we have created the treatment plan, we provide the customer with a quote for our services. We want to make sure they understand the costs associated with the treatment and are comfortable with moving forward.
Once the customer has agreed to move forward, we schedule a time to perform the treatment. Our team of experienced professionals will use the most effective and appropriate methods to control the pest problem and minimize any disruption to the customer's daily life.
Finally, we follow up with the customer after the treatment to ensure that the pest problem has been resolved and to provide any additional recommendations for ongoing pest prevention. We want to make sure our customers are satisfied with our services and know that we are available to help if they have any future pest control needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In general, pest control professionals are required to undergo specialized training and obtain certifications or licenses to work in their field. This may include completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, followed by specialized coursework in pest control, pesticide application, and safety procedures.
Additionally, many pest control professionals undergo on-the-job training, which may include working under the guidance of an experienced technician, attending industry conferences or workshops, or participating in ongoing training programs offered by their employer or industry organizations.
In some states, pest control professionals are also required to obtain a state-issued license or certification, which may involve passing a written exam and demonstrating their knowledge of pest control methods, safety procedures, and regulations.
Overall, the education and training requirements for pest control professionals vary depending on the specific state and job requirements, but a combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and certification or licensure is typically required to work in this field.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working for a smaller company. After a few years, I worked my way up and learned the trade until I felt confident that I could start my own business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with anyone that needs pests gone fast! Ideally, we prefer to work with homeowners or business owners that see the value in a recurring preventative pest plan.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently helped a family that had a really bad mouse problem. There were mice in every room of the house. After several visits, we were able to completely get rid of the mice. We educated them about things they could do as a family to make sure this situation didn't happen again. They also opted to signup for our recurring service plan.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always, always, always ask questions about what type of products pros use and how they use them. Professionals that hesitate may not be the best for you. Pest control pros are using chemicals that can be harmful when used improperly.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I would ask Professionals about warranties, guarantees, and pricing before any work is started. Unfortunately, some pros will try and pull a bait and switch.
