What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Find out exactly what the problem pest is, inspect the problem, and form a solution with the customer, based on the inspection and information the customer gave.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Most of my education was learned hands on. I’ve seen and fixed all kinds of pest problems.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I’ve been in some aspect of pest control for 10 years, starting with door to door sales. I’ve seen all kinds of different problems people come across and have the experience and knowledge to fix almost anything.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I’ve worked with all different kinds of people and situations., both residential and commercial. The part of my job that I love the most is having a personal relationship with each of my customers. I really want to know who they are. I take pest problems personally, and treat it as if it were a problem at my own house. I pay attention to detail and want to fix and PREVENT a problem as quickly as possible.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You need to find someone who will provide 3 things: Someone who will actually listen to your problem. Someone who will spend the necessary time to fix the problem. The 5 minute drop by isn’t going to work. And a customer willing to help with the necessary steps in pest removal. For example, if there’s a cockroach problem in the kitchen, cleaning off the grease behind the stove and the exhaust fans would be helpful in fixing the problem. Customer help is vital at fixing a pest problem.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Most pest problems don’t go away after one service. Make sure to ask what kind of time frame the process normally takes and what to expect along the way.
