Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
As a general practice I have several options available for each customers budget. We offer a monthly, every other month , and quarterly service. A one time, or single service is also available. While every job stands on its own, the pricing structure would be: $45/monthly, $65/EOM, and $85/quarterly. I reserve the right to change this pricing depending on unforeseen circumstances. The customer will know the pricing before any job is started. Bed bug jobs typically require an inspection before the work can begin. We will need to determine the level of infestation and make sure the customer truly has bedbugs. We will not treat for bedbugs if there are none visible. We treat the entire house to ensure a thorough elimination. Mattress and box springs covers are required as a part of service. Pricing for bedbugs can begin as low as $150 per room.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I assure the customer I can help with their problems or concerns. I respond as quickly as possible. Once I arrive at the address, I assess the property and offer a solution before I begin the treatment. Every job stands on its own and I customize each treatment to the customer's needs. I will, to the best of my ability, provide the best service possible. My goal is to give the customer "a peace of mind" during a stressful situation. I am always available to answer any questions or concerns.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
With 10 years of experience in the pest industry, I am licensed with the state in structural and urban pest control and have extensive training in commercial and residential settings. I also have been trained in the latest techniques for bed bug and mosquito control. I have completed courses in pest control through Purdue University and termite control through Texas A&M University.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
It was a career change from the retail world. I was in management for over 20 years. I wanted to be able to make some kind of difference in the lives of my customers. Pest control allows me that opportunity. Controlling pests helps in the health of my customers and helps protect their property.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have the awesome opportunity to work with all kinds of customers. Homeowners to renters and all incomes. People are the same regardless of their circumstances. They want their problems taken care of in a timely fashion at the lowest cost possible. I try to give that to all my customers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I had the opportunity to help one of my customers with a bed bug problem. They had a fairly bad infestation and children in the home. I was able to provide a solution to rid that home of the bed bug problem and give those parents "peace of mind". The actual treatment took approximately 2 hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Use a professional with whom you are comfortable. Not every job or question is able to be answered over the phone. In most cases a good inspection, before any treatment is done, will help determine the best way to proceed. The treatment plan and any additional services should be explained so everyone is on the same page. Be sure the professional is licensed.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Am I truly able to take care of this problem on my own? Did the person I hired explain to me everything that will take place? Is this someone I can trust?
