What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My price for carpet cleaning is per area, for upholstery is per linear foot, for tile and grout is per square foot: typically loveseat is 5 feet = $75 sofa 7 feet = $105 sectionals $150

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to find out how many areas are going to be cleaned, what type of carpet will be cleaned, and what type of stains are needing to be removed. From there I can schedule a time based on the details for how long it will take to do a great job.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 15 years of experience that mostly is on the job training. I also have been to many classes including carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, water damage, upholstery cleaning, and pet treatments, tile and grout and marble polishing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My brother owned a carpet cleaning business and he invited me to work with him. I worked with him for a couple of years and really enjoyed the job. I looked into joining a larger company to grow my business and worked with them for about 7 years. After that I wanted to start my own business to make sure I could maintain the quality of service I wanted.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of customers including customers who have pet stains and/or overall allergies. I love when I can make a huge impact on my customers lives by helping their homes be cleaner. I also do general cleaning as well as people who have events at their house including Super Bowl parties, Thanksgiving family dinners, and right before their home is listed for sale.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I had a customer that I worked with that had a large amount of pet stains on their carpet. When I was done, I was really proud of how clean I was able to get it. The look of the stains were removed as well as the smell. I followed up with the customer later and they were so excited about how big of a difference I had made for their home.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would ask how many years of experience they have as a specialist and make sure they have a truck mounted machine. The truck mounted machine is going to provide a higher quality clean than a portable machine will be able to. The type of equipment being used by the professional will be able to tell you about the kind of quality work they do.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Reliability and quality of the results are important for picking the right professional. Schedule flexibility would also be something to consider. I would also recommended thinking about the type of experience that you would like (if you'd like the person you hire to be respectful as well as make sure your doors are not wide open during the cleaning). Also just the respect level for your home and items overall.
