Introduction

Hi I only do floor installations, not repair jobs. Why choose me? 1. I don’t do cheap quality work, my customers deserve the best 2. My prices are fair 3. I have been educating myself for over 10 years with the biggest and advanced flooring university that NWFA provides. This means that I know flooring products very well and how they perform. 4. I educate my clients. Unfortunately some home owners purchase products from big box stores without knowing important details about the products like how it should be installed, and how it performs. There are very little percentage of flooring experts like myself that know about this and it ends up saving my clients time, energy and money. My main objective when meeting a new client is to educate him/her as much as possible. And thanks to my many years of continuous Flooring education in the National Wood Flooring Association, I am able to do that. There are vast selections of wood flooring options out there, with many colors, textures, finishes, widths, thicknesses and so on. Each type of wood floor can be best suited for a specific house. As a flooring professional I am able to help guide the client to the right product. The flooring industry has standards that should be kept so quality doesn’t go down, I follow does standards and I also make sure that after the project is completed, the homeowner has a warranty from the wood & glue manufacturer. And this is only possible if it’s installed correctly. There is a lot of information and if any homeowner is interested, please contact me.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I keep my prices fair. I don’t want to underbid and not be able to deliver maximum quality. Every job must be acceptable to the NWFA standards, and manufacturers recommendations.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The most important is the right wood color so it can compliment the house. Next step is if that product is suitable for that specific house meaning some wood floors are not recommended in specific geographic areas. And once that’s done we determine the type of installation that’s required and how we’re going to install it.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
2 Certificates from the National Wood Flooring Association

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My Father first opened his retail flooring company on Van Nuys Blvd in the early 90s, after he himself was installing flooring for many years. And from there I started helping out when I got older. Eventually I received my C15 license in 2008 and I wanted more training so I got certified by the NWFA.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I installed wood floors in Deebo’s house from Friday the movie, and also Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Last project was a Laminate floor install with box stairs. I took my time putting enough glue and nails on the step so it doesn’t break apart and the customer was very happy. That’s how it should be, if you’re providing service you have to treat that house as yours and do the best job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Hire companies that follow industry standards so your project won’t be an experiment for them. Make sure they know what there talking about and there track record. The expert should be able to educate the client and not push a specific product or type of installation.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Is this person a middle man with limited knowledge out there trying to get as much jobs as possible but in reality he hasn’t educated himself in his industry and he’s going to learn through mistakes or on my house. Or he has educated himself and he knows what he’s doing and I can trust him.
