Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I try to keep my prices fair and my quality on the 'UP'.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet in person;. look at the project, and then assemble an estimate and send it via email with all my contact information and reviews.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a certificate from Pergo in floating floor installation and repairs.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was house painting back in the 80's and when Winter arrived I bought a fixer upper so I could stay employed and see if I could flip the property. Well it worked out with a little bit money earned and a lot of experience gained. I was fortunate.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds from surly to the most pleasant. I now make discernment as to who I can work with.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was in a home quoting a floating floor system. I had assured the customer that I could do the install without having the floor leveled by another firm. The other company would not install the floor unless they had it leveled. I am not against leveling....When it is needed!!! . All too often contractors recommend leveling when a second opinion is needed. I am that second opinion. So, I was able to save the homeowner a fair amount of unnecessary expense. I have done this a few times now.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I think it is a good idea to have insurance even if you as a contractor consider yourself careful. Weird stuff can happen that you just cannot avoid. 99.9 percent of the time everything is fine. It is that once in a lifetime moment that you are glad for the insurance.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If the materials will be available allowing sufficient time to complete the installation on schedule.
