Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Not really standard. Each job is unique. The factors included in price are: location, time, material, and design.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Step 1 is to get an idea of what they're wanting. A basic design and budget. Then, we go over some products and materials. Once we get an idea of the look they're desiring, then we run a few ideas by them. Show them some recent pics of our work. Usually we connect with the customer very easily. Work begins once the idea is agreed upon, and products are delivered.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My training and education came from Rosemary Beach's finest tile setter. He taught me the trade from inside out. From high end, multi million dollar homes to average.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was doing tile on the side while working at a large corporation in town. I decided to go full time in the tile trade for the money.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all types of people. From wealthy people to the average blue collar citizen. I have met great people in this business.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My most recent project was a condo where we renovated 2 bathrooms. Fully gutted both bathrooms, and did custom tile work to rebuild 2 tile showers and floors. This project took about 4 weeks to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
First appearance means a lot. Here is some good advice: Look at the vehicle their driving...is it clean? Look at their appearance..are they clean cut? Were they on time for their first meeting with you? Look at their employees. Believe it or not, all these are signs of how your job will go.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Get an approx. time estimate of how long it will take to complete the project. Ask them if they will be there everyday, and what time? Inquire about the products they use. Are they quality products? Ask them how they will perform a certain task? This gives them the idea that the homeowner knows about this skill.
